Happy Friday Jr.! We are going to be closing early for Valentine's day and the day before. We will be buying both days and maybe having a special or two on the 14th! Make sure you check out our Twitter (@FSAPPEX) and our Insta-Story (@flipsideapparelexchange) for the specials!
We decided to close early the day before and Valentine's day for a religious holiday. Thank you for understanding and we apologize in advance for any inconveniences.
We truly do appreciate and love every customer! Also, we hope your days are filled with love, joy, and happiness (not only on this ridiculous holiday).

CLEANING OUT YOUR CLOSET
When we clean out our closet, sometimes we're shocked at what we find hiding in the very back. Oh, we're not the only ones? When you're cleaning out your closet, keep in mind what has resale value and what doesn't. If you would NEVER wear it again, then chances are no one will. We're talking about those Sex in the City style skirts and dress and your old Sketcher's exercise tennis shoes. Yes, even the platform plastic sandals you wore once during Spring Break.
What we look for are styles that you wore once and either don't fit right or you've moved on to the next best thing. Style, condition, and the resale value are the most important things we take into consideration when we're looking through your pre-loved wardrobe. Brands are often a big factor when we're looking through things but it's not the most important! We want to offer our customers a quality selection of used clothes, shoes, and accessories.
Remember that we're humans too. If you don't want to look through a stranger's old pile of socks and undergarments then what makes you think we would enjoy it? Here's a quick list of things we have seen in the past and don't want to see again: underwear, pajamas, socks, clothes that are dirty, jeans with "lady time" accidents, clothes that are COVERED in pet hair, and clothes that have bugs and/or spiders. If you don't want to donate clothes that have holes or stains, we'll be more than happy to find resources in the area where you can properly dispose of them without throwing them in the trash.
Anyways, long story short....1). Keep in mind what you're bringing in to sell 2). Selling your clothes helps the environment by keeping out millions of pounds of textiles out of landfills 3). Last but not least, you're helping and supporting a small business (thank you!)

It's that time of year again where we switch back to our regular shop hours (insert excited emoji here). So, our normal (updated) hours are Monday-Saturday 11am-7pm and Sunday noon-5pm. Our buying hours are changing too! For the past year we decided to keep Sundays chill for us and not buy inventory that day but guess what? Our new buying hours are Monday-Saturday 11am-6pm and SUNDAY noon-4pm!!
Another thing we wanted to remind you of was that we close up the shop for many reasons (remodel projects, sick days, snow days, religious days, holidays etc.) and is the best way to know if we're going to be open on a specific day is to Google us! We constantly keep our Google listing up-to-date with ANY schedule changes so that's the best way to stay informed! Our Yelp page is another great way to stay informed with any specials or deals we are having. Our specialty is our social media pages (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) and we use those to showcase what we offer in the shop. Feel free to check out our pages!
We're excited to be buying on Sundays again and we hope to see you and a friend soon! We strongly encourage you to send us an email with your thoughts and comments! We listen! CS.FSAPPEX@GMAIL.COM

This month we wanted to try something new (literally new). We are starting to slowly integrate hand-crafted goods built and/or designed here in the Pacific Northwest. Our guinea pig collaboration was the Oregon Girl mugs featured in the picture. These mugs are designed by Myranda Sue in Portland! You can buy one on her Etsy in the link below. So far, we decided to have 2 vendors at one time (due to space). If you or anyone you know makes unique hand-crafted goods that fits our style PLEASE contact us.We're interested in collaborating with people who make cute and trendy goods! We are living our dream and want to help out fellow entrepreneurs and business owners.

Flipside Apparel Exchange is a Springfield original and we're making sure our community stays in style. Established in 2009, we're one of the oldest locally owned resale apparel shops in town. We offer a unique collection of gently used women's clothing, shoes, and accessories; ranging from vintage to trendy styles.
We started off as a mother/ daughter duo with a mission to provide a safe place for young girls to find cute styles without cracking open the piggy bank. As time went on, the daughter graduated from the University of Oregon, got married and now travels the world pursuing her dream. In 2014, the mother decided it was time to start a new chapter in life and decided to sell Flipside. She wanted to keep her hard work alive by selling her business to someone who would grow with the business. At that time, she decided to reach out to her employees and long behold, one of them was crazy enough to adopt her business.
In 2015, our current owner Whitney bought the business and vowed to nurture and grow the business as her own without forgetting the hard work the mother and daughter put into the shop. Whitney's always loved fashion and can't remember a time where she wasn't day-dreaming about owning her own business. After working at Flipside for a year, she was offered the opportunity of a lifetime. After cashing in all her pennies, she bought the shop from the mother and daughter. Now she's determined to spruce it up and dreams of another location. Whitney is always on hand to help you choose the perfect look and she aims to provide a shopping experience that's exclusive and personalized while maintaining all the fun in thrifting! Trends, like personal style, are ever-evolving and our mission is to make sure our customers maintain a wardrobe that speaks true to who they are. Come see Whitney and share her love of style!
